Bay Ridge Senior Center Mural
Tax deductible
Bay Ridge Cares (BRC) has partnered with the NYC Parks Department and other community organizations to help enhance the Fort Hamilton Senior Center. The Senior Center provides recreational programs such as sports, cards, dancing, and art classes, and has hosted social events, community meals, and senior specific services for over 50 years. Over the past year, BRC has worked to renovate the kitchen, card room and other common spaces to better reflect the positive energy and relationships being built inside.
BRC's next step is to focus on the outside of the building, which will include beautifying planters, adding seasonal banners, and installing benches and trees that were removed and never replaced. Our big project will be a community mural placed on the side of the building, which will tie into improvements that will be done to the adjacent John J Carty Park by the City.
We have partnered with The Thrive Collective , who is a strong community supporter and worked with Bay Ridge schools to develop multiple murals and has built lasting partnerships during the process. The Thrive Collective's mission is to mobilize communities - residents, students, seniors, and businesses - to provide quality art through a collaborative process.
We are asking for donations, of any amount, to help us complete these projects. Your contribution will help ensure that art and community engagement continue to be a part of Bay Ridge! Any amount is appreciated and if you are interested in being a partner, or a "paint-can-pal", we are also looking for the following donation levels:
Platinum: $2,500.00
Gold: $1,000.00
Silver: $500.00
Bronze: $250.00
Paint-can-pals: $50.00
The names of donors (individuals or businesses) will be prominently displayed on the Bay Ridge Cares Facebook page, as well as during the mural unveiling ceremony, unless you would like to remain anonymous.
Bay Ridge Cares would like to thank you in advance for allowing us to be part of such a wonderful community and for any donation, big or small, you may wish to make.
