Barrio Carlsbad Commemorative Mural

Donation protected
Barrio Carlsbad Mural Supporters; My name is Michele, and a group of us are asking the Raza and Community for Donations to help purchase a Commemorative plaque for our Barrio Carlsbad Mural located on the side of the Circle K Building in Our Barrio.
The Barrio Carlsbad Mural was Carlsbads' 1st Commemorative Mural painted in the 1984 by a local club of young Latino students called,
"La Raza Unida" . La Raza Unida worked with a Local Latino Artist,
Victor Ochoa, whose art work is presented in Chicano Park and Balboa Park.
The Barrio Carlsbad Mural is a Tribute to Our Communities' Hopes, Tragedies, Joy, and Continuity. It's a Dedication
In Loving Memory of Larry Mendez.
The White Hand is the Hand of Death. The Green Hand with Flower Pickers Symbolizes; Life and our contribution to Our Countries' Argiculture . The Four Fisted Hands
Represents the strength of The People alluding to The Mexican Revolution of 1879 and 1919.
The mural has Historical figures of
Emiliano Zapata, Miguel Hidalgo, and Francisco "Pancho" Villa.
The Mestizo is a Tri-faced image reflecting European and Indigenous mixture which has developed into
The Mestizo.
Our Barrio Carlsbad Mural has never had a Commemorative Plaque ; and now that the Birds of Paradise Trees are not covering it , what better time to reach out to our Community to raise funds to purchase a plaque for our mural.

Thank you in advance to Our Barrio
Carlsbad Mural Supporters.
