It is with deep sadness and great love that we say good bye to our dear Barbara - loving wife, mother, daughter, and friend. Our hearts are heavy. She was taken from us entirely too soon. We have set up this page to help Jozef and the children during this heartbreaking time.
Many of you are concerned friends, family and colleagues who have reached out and asked how you can help. It is a testament to how much Barbara was loved and how she touched so many of our hearts that inquiries have flooded in from the many corners of her life. In lieu of flowers, a donation would be most useful for the family.
For those of us who were blessed with Barbara’s presence in our lives, we know that it was in her very nature to nurture those around her; we were so lucky to be in her orbit. She took care of everyone around her, remembered the little things and always offered words of friendship, love and support, more often that not accompanied by tea, flowers or some yummy treats. We are humbly trying to return some of that love.
While the family gets Barbara’s affairs in order we are trying to raise $10k to relieve any immediate financial needs and assist with fulfilling Barbara’s wish to return home. A child of the outdoors, Basia grew up in the mountains and never lost her love of hiking, skiing and nature in general. It was her express wish to return to her beloved Polish highlands.
We have set up a GoFundMe account if anyone would like to participate. Every bit helps. It is our hope that with this fund, we can help her family with the associated costs of fulfilling this wish and relieve Joe and their children from some of the anxiety of worrying about the finances in order to allow them the emotional space to grieve, remember and celebrate the extraordinary person that Basia was. All of the funds raised will be given directly to Jozef, Yosh and Zosia. We love this family and want to support them through this heartbreaking time and help bear this burden just a little bit more.
