Bald Eagle Rehab from Gunshots

Donation protected
Cape Fear Raptor Center has admitted an adult Bald Eagle and are treating him for fractures from gunshot wounds. He was found in Arapahoe/Minnesot, in Pamlico County, and brought to Outer Banks Wildlife Rehab.  They quickly transferred him to us, since we specialize in caring for raptors.

Dr. Joni Seymour performed surgery on his wing to repair the fractures shortly after he arrived.  Six pins were placed in the wing.

He will be with us healing, rehabilitating for at least 180 days.  His surgery, medications, food, and physical therapy will cost between $8,000 and $10,000.

The Bald Eagle is our nation's symbol, and we need to get him soaring the skies again.  Please help us to help this Eagle after what he has suffered.

Shooting at or harming Bald Eagles is illegal.  There are hefty fines (up to $200,000 and prison time).

The mission of Cape Fear Raptor Center is to provide compassionate and aggressive rehabilitation services to injured raptors with the goal of release back to their natural habitat. Furthermore, we provide education to citizens of North Carolina and the Southeastern region on the importance that raptors serve in our ecosystem in order to help ensure the presence of raptors in our environment for generations to come.

We are a 501(c) Non-Profit.  We operate solely with donations and volunteers. This is truly a labor of love for us, and we cannot do this without the support of the community.  Thank you so much!
