Balcones District Park is a wonderful park, full of potential! A park & pool that has been loved and used by thousands and thousands over the years, but has received little to no updates in the last decade!

Help us change that!

NPP, APF & PARD will give Balcones Park & Pool $200,000 - IF and only IF - we can raise $15,000 as a cash match!

Then the $200,000 will go to adding:
1. a shade structure at the pool
2. a new pavilion by the playscape and
3. 9 much needed picnic tables
*4. additions & improvements to the playground
(*We are still working on this improvement as there are some logistical hurdles and we would need to raise a larger amount of money to overcome those issues.)

Please consider donating to help us get the $200,000!

Just think for every $1 you donate the project will get $13!!! Can't beat that match!

Please do note that many companies have a donor match program, such as Apple, Dell, HomeAway, etc. so feel free to go through your company or if you would like a Tax Write off, go directly to our Austin Parks Foundation Account and do it there.  <If you go through your company - please email us the information so we can make sure that the funds end up at Balcones Park. balconespark (a) >

Every single penny we receive will go to improving Balcones Park & Pool.

More BIG News for Balcones Park!

We recently received another NPP grant for repairs to be made along the Creekside Trail in Balcones Park! The grant will provide the park with approx. $117,000 in trail repairs! In order to be awarded this grant, we promised to take on the expense of $9,302 to add substantial trees, signage in park and along trail and re-landscape the pool! We have also promised another 1,522 volunteer hours! But are so excited that by Fall 2018 we will have a fully complete trail system to enjoy: both the Creekside Trail and the Northern Walnut Creek Trail will be complete and use-able again! Also our endangered Jollyville Salamander Habitat will be secured and no longer threatened by the disintegrating state of the trail upstream of it!! Thank you all for your continued support of our Park!

The Pool Shade should be installed this month (March) and the Location of the New Playground and Pavilion will hopefully be narrowed down in the next week and provided to PARD to move forward on!

MORE BIG NEWS!!! Balcones Park will now ALSO be getting a NEW, LARGER PLAYGROUND! This will be in addition to the POOL SHADE & PAVILION!

How!? Because of YOU: our supporters and donors! In a very short time, we have amassed a list of over 1,300 supporters and 300+ donors - mostly residents giving what they could and a few larger company sponsors: First State Bank Central Texas, Amplify, Textruss, AVANA, MNA, H&H Design & Build, Silver Grill Cafe and more! This provided us with proof that Balcones Park is well LOVED and residents want to see improvements.

Why?! When we were working with NPP and PARD to place the pavilion, it became clear that the playground was falling apart around us. So we did some research then we took each individual's show of support and brought our case to PARD and Council Member Pool who agreed we were justified in making the request and therefore they said YES - the City will find a way to make it happen!

So a special thanks to Council Member Pool, PARD, Neighborhood Partnering Program & Austin Parks Foundation for all taking a part in making all these improvements happen for Balcones Park!

Each dollar donors put forward will go directly to the funds to make the Playground, Pavilion and Pool Shade that we are getting that much better!

There is a chance the Playground will move to another location in the park, so please make sure and join the EMAIL LIST in order to provide your input about how these improvements should happen. Just email balconespark(at) to join the email list.
