Baby Calhoun's Cord Blood Fund

Donation protected
Jessica and Chris are expecting thier first baby (a girl!) in June and cannot wait to welcome her into this world.

Many of you know that the Calhoun family lost their precious Brittany, Chris' little sister, to leukemia at age four and a half.  A bone marrow transplant was needed for Brittany, but unfortunately there was no match for her so this medical procedure was not an option.  She passed away in May 1989.

Science is making incredible progress to fight diseases through the use of stem cells extracted from babies’ umbilical cord blood. Today, preserving babies’ cord blood is an option for families, which can then be used to develop cures for numerous illnesses such as leukemia. If cord blood would have been available to Brittany, she may still be with us today.

Given this family history, Jessica and Chris have decided to bank Baby Calhoun's cord blood stem cells through Stemcyte , a leader in the field.  While this is a valuable step to safeguard Baby Calhoun’s future, it is also a very expensive endeavor for the family.

As part of their baby registry, they are asking for donations to help them fund this cause.  As a shower gift to the Calhouns, you may want to consider making a donation to help them fund this incredibly important effort that is near and dear to their hearts.
