Baby Jazelia Elena was born on April 28, 2018 in Sioux City, Iowa around 6:56am, weighing 6lbs. 11oz. She took her time entering the world, and when she did, she wasn't breathing very well. She was immediately air lifted to the Omaha Children's Hospital, where they hooked her little self up to machines and tubes.
She has been on a cold capping treatment which regulates her body temperature and monitors her brain activity to make sure she's not seizuring at any point. Mri and Cat Scan are scheduled for tomorrow, May 2nd.
She's been such a good little patient, and I'm so glad they have such good care at the Methodist Hospital, where she's in the NICU at currently.
Everyday, she continues to do amazing and is making great progress! Today, she has no more pic lines in her belly and is more active than yesterday! She's breathing on her own and is prepping for being able to have breastmilk soon!
Jayme and Jill have been great parents so far! Jill has been so attentive to her and has stayed in Omaha every night since she was born. Jayme has been so supportive! He's driving to Omaha everyday after school, and comes back every night. He's doing good balancing life. But that gets expensive.
While we await the insurance to cover costs, I'm reaching out to you. Gas everyday back and forth to Omaha is costly. This fund is, as of right now, being set up to cover travel costs for Jayme and Jill. We appreciate all of the continued support for baby Jazzy!
We hope she will be home soon, and Jayme and Jill can lay her in her crib at home❤
