Baby Jack’s road to recovery

Hi, I’m Jamie Louro and I’m helping to raise money for my cousin and her family. My cousin Courtney’s son, Jack, is 7 months old and suffers from Multi-cystic Dysplastic Kidney (MCDK), stage 5 Vesicoureteral Reflux, and Hip Dysplasia.

MCDK is a type of cystic disease that results from the malformation of the kidney. Both of baby Jack’s kidneys have this condition and he requires repeat ultrasounds and lab work every month to monitor his kidney function and overall health. Eventually Jack will outgrow his kidneys and will require kidney transplants.

Vesicoureteral Reflux is a condition in which urine flows backward from the bladder into the ureters/kidneys. Jack is a grade 5, the most severe form of the condition. Jack will require surgery at age one to fix the valve to protect the diseased kidneys from further damage. Until then he continues to get kidney infections and has been hospitalized several times per month.

Needless to say, all this has greatly taken a toll on Courtney and her family. She has had to miss numerous days of work caring for Jack and the medical bills are piling up.

Best case scenario, Jacks medical expenses are forecasted to exceed $10,000 - $20,000 per year over the next several years.

Lost income due to missed work caring for Jack are forecasted to add another $5,000-$10,000 per year.

All together, Courtney, her husband and her young family will face $50,000 to $100,000 of debt and lost revenue over the next few years do to our dear little Jack’s condition.

We are humbly requesting any and all donations possible from anyone who is willing to help.

All funds collected will be spent on past and future medical expenses. Jack’s illness requires frequent and routine tests and labs, therapy for his hips, and medication for his reflux.

Jack is truly the sweetest little boy. He barely cries when he’s being poked and prodded at his weekly check ups. He’s already experienced more ER visits than most people will experience in a lifetime and he carries through it all with a giant smile and radiating love. He truly deserves to grow up as healthy and happy as possible.

Courtney, or Coco as you may know her, would never ask for help but we know her and her husband Kyle can not do this alone.
