Baby Cara and Family

Donation protected

Cara had to be taken by an emergency C-section on Dec. 31st. She was 30 weeks, but measured just 27 weeks and was not growing as she should. Cara is 2 lbs 2.6 oz, 13.5 inches long. She is in the NICU in Saginaw where she is expected to stay for a couple of months.

The hospital is a 2 hour drive from where her parents, Frank Ellis and Carrie Hunt live. It is a long drive to the hospital, and travel expenses are more than the family can afford, as are nearby accommodations for her family.

Cara has a 4 year old brother at home as well. Since he is not allowed into the NICU where is sister is staying, care for him will also be needed when his parents are with the baby. Her family is doing what they can to help, but can't do it alone.

Since Cara is expected to remain in NICU for at least 8 weeks, money will be needed for travel, accommodations, childcare, and any other unexpected expenses, as well as some of the necessities once she is able to come home. Since both parents are currently out of work, funds are desperately needed right away.

Any help that you can offer would be greatly appreciated by Cara's family. We hope to gather enough donations to make it possible for her parents to be with her daily as well as being able to spend time with her brother. We would also appreciate prayers for the family. We would be very grateful for any help that you could offer.
