Help Teach Soap Making
Hi, Charlotte Chisholm here. I am a soap crafter. www.millyverchar.com . I sell at street festivals and flea markets and do Body and Bath making demos.
This year, I was asked to be a volunteer for soap making work shops. Teaching 25 to 30 diverse young women, youths and mothers. The soap making work shops, are offered by a community based volunteer women operated non profit organization.
Global Birth Action Collective
The work shops will be in different phases of instructional and hands on learning, creating different kinds of Bath and Body items. Each participant will be creating what they have learn at the work shops, take them home to use and share with family, then bring feedback to the work shop group, of the experience, how it make them feel and what others think about it. They will also be given supplies for Projects to do on their own at home. They will bring their project back to the work shop group for a show and tell on what they
created, understanding what to do and how to do it on their own. In the work shops, some soaps instruction will be on learning how to make are: loaves of soap, soaps with herbs, coffee soaps, cream soaps, multi-colored designed soaps, different shape soaps, layered soaps and more.
The work shops will also be doing different kinds of body scrubs, such as: sugar scrubs, herbal spa scrubs, Himalayan Pink Salt scrubs and more. Also body butters, body sprays and scented oils. Through these work shops, the increase awareness of taking care of the skin which is the body largest organ will be included. Creating hygiene awareness and helping to promote
clean and healthy self-sustainable tools and the
knowledge to stay clean and healthy.
Just using some of the most basic cooking ingredients that are in the home can cleanse, can keep your skin glowing, moisturized, have wrinkle free and clear skin, remove dead skin cells and have your skin looking and smelling good.
The work shops will give a meaningful skill to the young women, youths and mothers. These work shops are to inspire, grow confidence and give encouragement. To organize and focus on opportunities into becoming a entrepreneur, in making Bath and Body handmade items.
I need your help, to be able to get the supplies needed to do the work shops and supplies to give the participants for their projects. I buy in bulk and I use coupons and watch out for the best deals to buy supplies.
Bulk Supplies needed are: saponified soaps, Oils: olive, coconut, almond, hemp, etc., glycerin, raw sugars, honey. Butters: shea, coco, mango, etc., colloidal oatmeal, dried lavender buds, dried rose petals, etc. , essential oils, mitre boxes, soap cutters, pigments, silicone soap molds, flexible cutting boards, kitchen cutlery, double burners, quart glass bowls, graters, measuring spoons, double boilers, batter bowls, spatulas, plastic gloves, cling plastic wrap, pot holders, dish towels, paper towels, kitchen food scales, storage containers and stationary, etc. .
For me, I am given this valuable opportunity to share my time and my experience with diverse young women, youths and mothers. This is something, that they may never get a chance to learn without an out of pocket expense, for the work shops and materials they each will need. All they have to do is attend and learn this craft. It will give the participants, a start for being self sufficient and to pursuit a business, with this craft they have learned from the work shops. They will be able to make a variety of body and bath items, for business, family and for themselves. I believe in educating one self, the more you know the further you'll go. Diverse young women, youths and mothers can achieve independence and opportunity in taking these work shops in soap making.
I am ever so grateful, for your help through your donations.
When you make a $10 dollar donation you will receive two samples and a Certificate of Appreciation.
