Climate change is the biggest issue Arizona, America and the World has ever faced. On March 15th Youth across Arizona and America are striking to protest climate change.
We, the Youth of Arizona, and America, are striking on March 15th at the AZ State Capitol Grounds because decades of state and national inaction has left US with just 11 years to solve the climate crisis. We are striking because the necessary action to achieve the fundamental and necessary goal of fighting climate change is not being prioritized. We are striking because marginalized communities across our nation are already disproportionately impacted by climate change. We are striking because our elected officials have refused to protect the people who have put them into office. We are striking because they still haven’t acknowledged us.We are striking because we believe there is a better way, that we can create a sustainable future if we take initiative and act now. We are at a turning point in history. Our futures are at stake. We call for radical legislative action to combat climate change and its countless detrimental effects on the American people. We are striking for the Green New Deal and the Arizona Heritage Fund, for a Public lands day for our national parks, to protect Arizona’s Ecological Water, to stop fracking and other harmful policies. We are fighting for recycling, for sustainability, a fair and just transition to decarbonize the US economy, and other legislative action that combats the effects of climate change. We won’t be silent any longer.
We, the youth of Arizona, are striking because our present and future on this planet are in danger, and we are running out of time.
These funds will be used to pay for the logistics of the strike and future actions.
