Autism Eats provides autism friendly non-judgmental family restaurant dinners and events.
As parents of a 12 year old boy with Autism we know how difficult it is to enjoy a dinner out. The behaviors, bolting for the door, vocal outburts, playing iphone music loudly and disturbing other diners do not make for a relaxing experience!
We created a unique model that ensures a fun and succesful experience for all attending.
We reserve our own section of the restaurant, adjust music and lighting, have a buffet dinner and set up single family and community tables. Payment is made in advance on the Autism Eats website so there is no waiting for a server or a check. All behaviors are welcome!
We have had 50 restaurant events in 15 states with more in the planning stages.
This funding will be used to provide scholarships so financially constrained families can join us, costs for the dinners such as decorations, toys for the kids and sensroy friendly entertainment.
I was invited to present our model at the National Lifespan Respite Conference on October 12 in Huntsville, AL! A portion of the the funding will go towards the costs of this important trip.
