Austin & Katie: Rose Bowl Parade

Austin & Katie are juniors at Franklin High School (TN) and members of the Franklin High School Band.  Austin is a drum major and plays saxaphone in the concert band. He has marched  saxaphone in the band in previous years. Katie plays the trombone in concert band and marches with the baritone. Both have a passion for music and are in honors & AP classes at FHS; Austin is a part of the IB Program. 

While at music camp at Ball State University, they heard about the Bands of America Honor Band for the Tournament of Roses Parade. Each set the goal for themselves to learn the music and submit online auditions earlier this year. Both were accepted and will march in the 2017 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, CA, in January. 

Both are excited to be among the 300 high school students from across the country and only a few to represent Tennessee in the Rose Bowl parade this year. In addition to marching in the parade on January 2nd, they will also march and play at Disneyland on New Years Eve!  All donations will help pay the balance of fees and airfare.
