NyCore Conference Fundraiser

We are the Northside Research, a group of high school and college aged researchers from North Minneapolis funded by Youthprise and Neighborhood Hub. Our mission is to consistently engage the community to find a deeper understanding of how issues in our community can shape residents’ mental and emotional health.
We believe that it is critical for oppressed young people to be able to take control of the valuable community knowledge that lives in these experiences.
By training young people of color in YPAR (Youth Participatory Action Research), we create space for young people to analyze their community and systems of power, and to target how both play a role in the world we live in today. This model of research gains data by building relationships and trust with community members, investigating the information through a socially conscious lens, and then using our relationships to break the inequalities occurring around them.
We have been accepted to facilitate this training as part of a radical education confrence in New York. To find more information on conference click this link:

Unfortunately we do not have the funds to pay for the hotels, flights and stipends for all 7 facilitators in time for the conference date March 18th.
Please help us reach our goal of $6,000 by contributing as much or as little as you can by February 28th in order to buy reasonably priced tickets .
We will update those who contribute on how the money has been spent and the outcomes of the conference.
