Under Where? Underwear for refugees in Serres camp

UNDER WHERE? UNDERWEAR? Under the same stars, the same moon. You look up from where you are, a mother in a camp with her children is looking up at the same stars and moon as you and longs for her homeland, for her children's bedrooms to tuck them in and the familiar sounds of her home town and neighbours. Not one of these will she ever see or hear again.
New Appeal Launching Tonight for this week to raise £1000 to buy underwear for the 600 residents of Serres Refugee camp, Northern Greece, reachable from Thessaloniki and not far from the Bulgarian border.
Each time someone donates offline I will take it (less an amount for fees rounded up to nearest £5) off the target figure of £1000.
Offline donations so far: £55
Little kids, you know look at your own little ones and imagine you couldn't even get them underwear. I ordered some underwear recently for families and it made me cry thinking of the kids, lovely little souls lost in a world that should have treated them better.
We will hopefully be going to help either make up the packs for summer clothing distribution with the amazing teams there, or to help with distribution. The underwear is for these packs.
Aim is 2 pairs each plus 3 pairs for the younger kids. And they get one in the pack already.
Let's think of all the parents who now find themselves refugees, it is up to us to help them and their children.
CAN YOU IMAGINE ONE DAY LIVING NORMAL FAMILY LIFE, THEN WAR AND CONFLICT AND THEN NEXT THING NOT EVEN BEING ABLE TO PROVIDE THE MOST BASIC ITEMS FOR YOUR CHILD? HOW MUCH MUST THAT HURT YOU?
It could be any of us, We must stand in solidarity in any small way we can to show we care. One Human Race.
