Support Astronomy & TMT in Hawaii

Newspaper Campaign to Support Astronomy & TMT In Hawaii

There is a critical need for the local, national and international community to support the start of building the largest telescope in the world on the Hawaii Island!

TMT (Thirty Meter Telescope) is a non-profit partnership of world-class universities including the University of California, California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and governmental research institutions representing the partner countries of Canada, China, India and Japan. It is funded by this partnership, and with support from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. This project is a remarkable demonstration of international collaboration and Hawaii stands to be the epicenter of an incredible technology that will transform the way we think about the universe and our place in it.

Your donation will help fund positive messaging and advertising in the local Hawaii newspapers. If we do not raise funds to share the right positive messages in support of astronomy in Hawaii and TMT, this project may not be built and the Hawaii Island will suffer an economic loss of 20 million USD per year. Another dire consequence is the potential loss of astronomy as a high tech industry in Hawaii.
