Ashley's Attorney Fees

On July 3rd, 2016, Ashley called the police after an argument with her husband escalated into violence. When they arrived on scene, they found Ashley holding her baby, bloody and crying. The official report reads, “Mrs. Cameron was bloody, and had an obviously swollen right eye … Mrs. Cameron stated that her husband proceeded to throw her around, hit her in the face with a closed fist, and then strangle her with both hands until she saw black.”
It’s been a long, hard road for her since July, but with the support of her family and friends, she has managed to remove herself and her infant son from what continues to be a dangerous situation and contact an attorney. Out of fear, she did not press charges against her husband at the time, but she has since been able to do so. The attorney fee she was quoted is staggering, but, considering the circumstances, necessary.
She is not only facing legal fees and the cost of starting her life over, but an enormous amount for her medical treatment that followed the abuse. Her husband has also refused to help with any of the medical bills she incurred because of him. Her medical bills total over $2,000 alone, and to even begin her divorce and follow through with the protective order, she must come up with her attorney’s retainer of $10,000.
If you know anything about Ashley, she’s not the type to ask for help. So, I’m doing it for her. Ashley deserves justice, and she deserves the chance to move forward in life with and for her son.
