Art O'Neill Challenge 2019

On Saturday the 12th January 2019 I finally completed the Art O'Neill Challenge. This is an (in)famous 55k walk from Dublin Castle to Glenmalure in Wicklow. The walk began at midnight and retraced the escape of Art O Neill in January 1592. Only 200 entrants are allowed to attempt it each year and this was my first successful application after many unsuccessful applications.
Proceeds from my fundraising will all go to the Dublin & Wicklow Mountain rescue team to help them in their voluntary (and dangerous work to rescue lost, stranded and injured walkers.
I finished the event in 15 hours 22 minutes. I would have liked to have finished earlier but for a first attempt I'm happy enough.
Your help, no matter how much, will be very much appreciated at one of the busiest times of the year for mountain rescuers.
