Help the Ardsley Robotics Team!

Hello, world! We are the Ardsley Robotics Team, a group of eleven high school students passionate about mathematics and the scientific exploration. Students who, after reaching the limits of educational programs offered, decided to create our own opportunities. We started the Robotics Club to explore an area of science that Ardsley has never explored before - the world of artificial intelligence. This exploration is by no means passive - it requires we learn engineering and programming concepts through action. Every week, as a team, we delve into the intriguing world of robotics, learning more about construction, design, execution and teamwork in the process. The end goal of the Ardsley Robotics team is not only to broaden the scope of our scientific education but also to successfully compete in First Tech Challenge. Every year teams across the globe design robots to compete in a head to head battle. The competition provides a set a tasks a robot must complete in a given amount of time. Teams use these guidelines to efficiently plan and construct a final design.

Our team needs funds to help respark our endeavor. Unfortunitly many of our componets broke in the previous competition. The main focus is to earn enough money to replace broken parts from last season and to rebuild the robot to complete in tasks specific for this competion. We have designed a robot that uses light-weight steel and has multi-purpose attachments to complete tasks. Our robot design is not the only piece of the club that finds innovative solutions with our limited resources.  Community outreach is an integral component to the development and strengthening of the club. We believe that sharing our scientific inquiries with our fellow elementary and middle school peers will help foster a community of learners and thinkers. To expose children to the application of science beyond classroom lectures. With these goals in mind, as well as an urgent need for funds, we have designed a community event called Tech Night. It is comprised of four lessons teaching engineering, computer science, and architecture to children in second to seventh grade.

However, events like Tech Night alone cannot fully sponsor our cause. As Neil Armstrong with his small steps, Marie Curie and her polonium, we are venturing into uncharted territory. This is a journey that we can take alone. Through your assistance, we can create a robot to participate in the First Technology Competition.  The robot  will not only be a paragon of engineering through its abilities and strengths, but also represent a triumph through its mere existence. This robot is more than a hunk of metal. It represents the endless hours of work our team members have spent side by side, the smiles on the children’s faces immersed in complex engineering and computer science enigmas and the shift, no matter how small, to making technology a larger part of our community. We humbly ask for your help to make this ambitious goal into a reality. For more information about our team, please visit our website
