Andrew Matthews AED Appeal
8 days ago, an AED or defibrillator, was mounted on the front of the Coastguard station on the promenade at Clevedon. It was funded by the family of, and in memory of Andy Matthews, one of the coastgaurd team who died suddenly two years ago. On friday morning, less than a week later, it was used by a member of the coastguard team in an attempt to save a life. Within an hour it was restowed and ready for use again. We are disappointed to report that overnight last night the box was broken into and it was stolen. It has been reported to the police. If anyone knows anything that might lead to its recovery, please contact them on 101.
The Coastguard have explained that The Ambulance service are replacing the defibrillator & any money raised will be for other sites.
We want to putt more of these in even more vandle proof boxes in places where they will save lives. PLEASE PLEASE DONATE anything at all will help. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. X x
