Do You Love to Garden? Join Us!
Andover Community Garden will be breaking ground this spring for a successful 2016 growing season! The Community Garden Board and the Town of Andover (Massachusetts) have created a solid plan to ensure success, and now we are looking for help with funding the start up costs so we can get digging! The garden plots are open to all residents on a first come first serve and lottery basis, and each gardener will contribute an annual plot fee to cover maintenance. Start up costs total $9,500 and include piping water for on-site access, materials to build a shed for storage, deer fencing materials and signage. Community Gardens are a great way to garden with others, learn new skills and access safe land for organic growing. Many cities and towns across the country are providing their citizens with community gardens, and Andover is proud to add their name to this list!
The garden will be located on the Virginia Hammond Reservation, on High Plain Road across from the leaf composting site & the dog park.
