In December 2018, I had the incredible opportunity of spending one month teaching Grade 6 at the Linda Community School in Livingstone, Zambia. Unfortunately, education in Zambia is not free. Although, the Linda School, which sits in a particularly poor area of Livingstone, provides free education to a vulnerable community (mainly orphaned and vulnerable children). The school has a current population of 420 students. I was assigned to the Grade 6 classroom with Andrew from Australia and together, we taught English and Math to the students. After the month ended, I walked away feeling like they taught me more than I taught them! They are each such intelligent, unique individuals with dreams that are very much alive. I look forward to returning to Zambia to watch them grow!

The amount of donations and support I received during my time in Zambia was truly incredible. What's even more amazing is the out pour of support from those who what to continue to support! Now that I am home, I am continuing to seek donations to help the children at the Linda Community School, as well as additional students in the area. All funds donated will go directly back to the Linda Community School and/or help pay school tuition fee's for those students attending neighboring schools. Zambia's school year started on January 15, 2019.

The following are just some of the places your money will go:

1 Year School Tuition in Zambia - $140
1 Uniform - $40
1 School Book - $5
School Supplies
Food for student's families in need

I am heading back to Zambia to SOLOTEER and need your support!! Back in December 2017 I traveled to Zambia and met some incredible people who inspired me to combine my love for travel with the passion I hold in my career. Looking ahead, on November 17, 2018, I will travel back to Zambia and surrounding countries dedicating 2 months of SOLOteering (volunteering) with The Footprints Foundation and Dream Livingstone Zambia. With your help and support, I can reach my goal of throwing the FIRST EVER Birthday Party for the street children of Lusaka, Zambia AND provide donations to the Linda Community Center in which I will be teaching at for 4 weeks!

**First ever BIRTHDAY PARTY for the Street Children of Zambia**

With over 300 street children living in Lusaka, together with the efforts of Footprints and other local supporters, we want to throw the children a Birthday Party they will never forget! For most, this will be their first birthday party they've ever had! Due to being on the street, many of the children have never had the chance to celebrate their birthday and/or are unsure of when the actual date of their birthday may be. The goal is to bring the children together for food, music, dancing, laughs, celebration, and of course...cake! Because EVERY child deserves to be celebrated!

During my short stay in December I was able to spend time with the Footprints Foundation and the street children of Lusaka, Zambia. I spent time getting to know them and their stories, understanding their needs, and hearing their hopes and dreams. Now it's time to go back and provide more support! Known to most of the county as the “invisible children,” they live on the streets due to being orphaned, abused, no schooling, having contracted HIV, among many other various issues. Footprints focuses on beating HIV, supporting individual needs, raising awareness and giving children a happy and healthy life. They use a unique model of meeting children where they are at by physically going into their life space on the street. Meeting with the children on the streets daily where they eat, play, and sleep fosters trust with members of Footprints' team. They support them with the objective of moving them off the street into partner organizations or back to their own family to give them a brighter future.
                 They believe
Every child has the right to health.
Every child has the right to shelter.
Every child has the right to education.
Every child has the right to play.
Every child has the right to respect.

**4 weeks of teaching at The Linda Community Center**

The Linda Community Center, in a very disadvantaged area of Livingstone, caters to around 470 of its most vulnerable children. They are selected by the community on the basis of their vulnerability – many are orphans and others have no means of support. If this school did not exist, most of these children would not be able to attend school at all. Many of the children live in homes that are not weatherproof and lack running water and electricity.  Each day, many students walk for over an hour to reach the school, weather permitting. Other than the headteacher’s salary, the school receives no government funding and is dependent on donors for support. With your help and support, I can bring/donate much needed supplies such as books, pens, paper, uniforms, etc.

**** HERE'S HOW YOU CAN HELP!****

All monetary amounts will help throw the children their first ever birthday party and will also be utilized for school supplies at the Linda Community Center in which I will be teaching at!

By making a donation you will help provide the following to our BIRTHDAY PARTY:
- Food
- Supplies
- Transportation

In addition, your donations will be able to provide three major items most villages are in need of:
- Goats
- Chickens
- Supplies for Nshima
(Zambia's staple meal in which 1 bag can feed up to 100 people)

**Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your support.** Whether that be you following my journey, giving words of encouragement, or donating to causes that have such a special place in my heart. You truly have no idea how much it means to me!
