Alyssa's South Africa Service Trip

My name is Alyssa Lofaro and I am a Junior Environmental Science / Secondary Education major as well as a Bonner Service Leader at Siena College.
As a Bonner Service Leader at Siena College, I have been creating sustainable change within the Albany, New York area for the past three years.
This May, I have been given the amazing opportunity to travel to South Africa to engage in a 5 week Global Service Internship. I will serve for 5 weeks at the Botshbelo Children's Orphanage. Botshabelo works with over 250 children that have HIV / AIDS or have lost a parent to it. I will be emerging in th community and engaging in service to address some of their most basic needs in a sustainable fashion. At the orphanage the children are offered a brighter future and have the chance to get an education that they might not of had the opportunity to get otherwise. While in South Africa, I could be teaching English at the orphanage, tending to the community farm, or contributing to the community in many other ways. In order to make this Mission trip happen, I need help in funding this experience as well as bringing a donation to the community that I will be serving.
