Lynnette Alvarez, MS 839's  Student Activities Coordinator, and her family lost their home and all personal belongings due to a 6 alarm fire in the Bushwick neighborhood on March 29, 2016. Lynnette is a 2011 BSSJ (Bushwick School for Social Justice) high school graduate and is currenly finishing up her degree at Hunter College.
