Alex Solis Eagle Project
Donation protected
Hi my name is Alex Solis, I am life scout in troop 193.
I am doing an Eagle Scout project for the City of Little Flock, which will also benefit the Sunshine School; a school for children with disabilities. My project is a butterfly garden on an empty park across the parking lot from the Sunshine School. The plans include 250 ft of 5 ft wide pathways that wheelchairs can use along with areas for benches and picnic tables. I have plans to plant multiple types of flowers. All the plants will support butterflies that come through our area including the Monarch which is at risk for being an endangered species for loss of habitat. I also plan to plant at least 4 trees that can grow to replace the existing large trees when they get too old. Two trees are butterfly host plants and 2 trees provide nectar.
The plans are to finish the project before November 2017 so the plants have time to get strong before the winter.
You can see more details and images of the location and plans here: https://alexeagleproject.blogspot.com/2017/07/planning.html
The donation will be used to buy plants, mulch, landscape materials, trees, pathway materials, rental of tools. The community and friends will help with the work.
Thank you for your donations, it will help make our community nicer and add a place for all to enjoy.
thanks,
Alex
