Pages 2 Stages (P2S) is an organzation where a team of volunteers prepare special events for patients and families in local children's hospitals.
For many of the kids we work with, the hospital is a treatment facility but for some, it is even a second home. Regardless of illness or injury, no child should feel they are missing out on every day childhood experiences. We use the creative and performing arts as a means to provide positive distraction and comfort to the patients and families. From hosting interactive, character-themed talent shows and game nights, to writing and performing short sketches, one acts, and even full-length musicals, we make it our mission to bring these experiences to them. These shows have a tremendous impact in not only the patients' lives but in the lives of those working to put these projects together. It is both overwhelming and humbling to have families come up to us and tell us how wonderful it is for them to watch their kids forget about where they are, even if it's only for an hour.
What P2S strives to foster is the perfect platform for where passion and talent meet philanthropy, and where healing takes place in between moments of laughter and make-believe. Additionally, the volunteers who work on the production team (whether as cast or crew) get to strengthen their skills through collaboration with like-minded, talented, passionate, people and walk away with an unforgettably, gratifying experience.
Currently, we are preparing to put on the Disney musical, Beauty & the Beast, for patients and families at the end of this summer in one of our local hospitals. This is the first time we are doing this particular show. We want to make this our largest inter-community involvement yet and really make this play spectacular. From creating elaborate sets and props to costumes design, and making goody bags, we could use all the support we can get. Any amount contributed will truly make a difference! Every single penny counts. Help us bring this show to the hospital stage--where every bit of theater and Disney magic is reimagined for these kids who deserve so much.
