On Dec 4th 2016 we arrived at Standing Rock along with over 3000 other veterans to support the water protectors. We received word that the oil company was denied a permit to run the pipeline under the river. It's a small victory. The fight is not over with yet. More work needs to be done. Our presense is still needed as the oil company is still working in spite of the court order.
In the rush to evacuate people to safety; gear was left behind. While more equipment was destroyed by the high winds and freezing cold. Weather prevented us from helping them prepare for the harsh winter.
OUR MISSION:
To build shelters for the natives as well as support teams coming in to help. The winters are harsh and the people standing guard need warm shelters. The building materials are there. They just need a team of people to build them.
We expect to stay for 5 days or more. Depending on how long it will take.
Money will be used to rent trucks and supplies for shelter and food.
Rental fees for a 4 x 4 suv or truck to bring in food and supplies.
Firewood, subzero sleeping bags and wool blankets.
We plan on going around the end of Jan.
Thank You for supporting our mission.
