Terrell's Bone Marrow Transplant

Donation protected
Jason Jr (Terrell) was born with a severe case of Sickle Cell. Although he is hospitalized multiple times each year for at least 30 days at a time, he still manages to maintain a "B" student most of the time. He is 15 years old, his favorite subject is History and he wants to be a Computer Engineer or Doctor when he grows up. Terrell loves sports, cycling, and playing video games. Unfortunately he can't participate in strenuous activities due to the disease. Terrell's siblings including a twin sister whom "all" was fortuneate not to get the disease. Terrell's siblings are his biggest supporters, and are very sympathetic to his needs, one year the entire family celebrated Christmas in the hospital with Terrell, and this year they gave him a Birthday Celebration in the hospital.

The National Bone Marrow Registry could not find a perfect DNA match for Terrell, therefore, Terrell's Dad; (Jason Sr) is providing his Bone Marrow for the transplant. The success rate is 50% when the marrow comes for a Parental Donor. Both of Terrell's parents work with one family car. The hospital where the transplant will be done is over 1 hour away from their home and since Terrell has to be within 30 minutes of the hospital for 6-12 months after the procedure, we will have to maitain two residences and commute daily. This is going to be one of the hardest situations we have had to tackle, but we are comforted with the support of Prayer, Family and Friends.
