Adaptive Yoga Class
Donation protected
My name is Lisa Hughes. I'm a Physical Therapist and a Yoga Therapist. I founded a donation-based Adaptive Yoga class to the community at Next Step Paralysis Recovery in Alpharetta, GA back in January 2015. We serve Spinal Cord Injured and Traumatic Brain Injured clients as well as students with neurological conditions. We have an immediate need for 10 large folding tumbling mats that will safely allow our quadriplegic clients to practice comfortably on the floor ($1600.00). These upgraded gym mats are thick enough to prevent areas of pressure for our clients and easy to clean ($160 each). It is my absolute passion to bring mindfulness based practice to this community. Yoga doesn't discriminate, but requiring students to stand for yoga does. With your help, we can grow community and make Therapeutic Yoga happen in the safest way for our clients.
This week we welcome 4 new students, all with Cerebral Palsy. Thank you for your contribution to Adaptive Yoga and Mindfulness for the differently-abled student!
