Adams County Skate Park

This group was formed in 2013 with the goal of raising money to build a Skateboard Park in Quincy, IL.  The youth of Quincy needs a safe location to practice this recreational outdoor activity.  Skateboarding is a healthy and exciting sport that builds confidence and self-esteem in our youth, while encouraging healthy outdoor physical activity.

We just received news that our OSLAD Illinois State Matching Fund Grant of $30,000 was re-approved.  This was originally awarded in January 2015, and then suspended in March 2015 along with all other 75 OSLAD grants totaling $26 million by Governor Bruce Rauner.  We are very thankful that Governor Rauner and the State of Illinois have now re-approved this grant to our organization and the city of Quincy.

The Quincy Park District has approved land in Lincoln Park for the construction of the Skateboard Park as part of Phase 1 of development along with the handicapped accessible playground and future restrooms and a shelter house.  After the park is built, the Park District will take over maintenance and insurance of the skatepark, so no additional funds will be needed after the park is built.

With $62,000 of our $70,000 goal to build this park in Spring of 2017, we are now at 88% of our goal.  We are asking individuals, businesses, non-profits and service organizations to help us with the final fundraising goal so we are able to complete this great project for Quincy youth.
