I'm Elizabeth Rose, a multi-disciplinary artist currently living in Pittsburgh, PA. My work as an artist has led me to partner with various organizations to promote the conservation of healthy ecosystems and wilderness.
I have been invited to attend an Artists-in-Residence program with the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness Foundation in Montana late this summer.
The ABWF's Artists-in-Residence Program gives me the opportunity to explore and interpret the surrounding mountains of the AB Wilderness through my work.
The Artists-in-Residence program with the Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness Foundation is the perfect synthesis of my lifelong pursuits of art and wilderness preservation. Documenting wilderness experiences is an important element in promoting stewardship of wild lands.
Anchored to wilderness areas throughout North America, my work explores ecosystems and records interactions between people and the environment. Personal observations of minute flora, and large geological formations, form the foundations of my recent work. I am intrigued by the juxtaposition of intricate biological elements, in relation to atmosphere, perspective, and depth.
My current projects demand time spent in alpine environments, where I can examine and observe the unique geological features, like those the AB Wilderness offers.
