Fundraiser For Kids Here and Abroad

We're really excited to participate in two 5K races this fall benefiting great nonprofits that mean a lot to us - Foreverfamily and The Andrew B. Foundation! Because we truly believe in the life changing work each nonprofit does, we are asking our friends and family to please support us in raising $2,000 ($1,000 for each organization) to help some very special kids in Atlanta and Kenya. Both are 501(c)3 charities so gifts are tax deductible. We will ensure you receive a donation letter for your records. Below is a description about each organization and each race. We hope some will be able to join us on race day as well!

Foreverfamily's 5K4Kids Run/Walk
On August 27th, we will be participating in the annual 5K4Kids race in the Historic Fourth Ward Park in Atlanta, GA. By participating in this 5K4Kids race, we are raising funds for Foreverfamily, Inc., a non-profit organization that supports families with an incarcerated parent. Foreverfamily focuses on ensuring that every child has the love of a family no matter what the circumstance. We have been involved with Foreverfamily for many years and currently serve on the Board.
This is our 3rd year participating in the race and we are determined to do more than just run. The money we raise directly affects the number of kids who will be able to visit their moms and dads this school year. We know these kids, we know their families, and we’re committed to protecting the kids’ ability to maintain a strong relationship with their parents. The Foreverfamily 5K4Kids race is not just a fundraiser, but also a way to keep families active and healthy. Foreverfamily program participants receive free training for the race and plenty of fun activities to participate in on race day. The money raised during this event directly benefit program participants in a variety of programs and services.

Andrew B. Foundation's "Big 5" K Run/Walk
On October 1st we will be in Cincinnati, OH for the 3rd annual “Big 5”K Run/Walk benefitting The Andrew B. Foundation. Adrian’s mom, Maggie Githuku, formed The Andrew B. Foundation in 2012 in memory of her brother, Andrew B. Masinde, who passed away following a tragic car accident. The foundation was formed with the primary objective of providing educational scholarships to talented and financially needy Kenyan students for high school and college education in Kenya. In addition, these students are provided mentorship and internship opportunities to ensure that they are successful in their education and that they become productive members of their communities.
This is the 3rd “Big 5”K run/walk (the Big 5 are the most popular animals on an African safari: Lion, Rhino, Leopard, Elephant and Buffalo), but the first time we will physically be able to participate. It also coincides with Adrian's mom's birthday and we hope you will help us with a special birthday gift - $1,000 in scholarship money for her students. Proceeds from the race go towards helping needy, deserving Kenyan students get a high school education.
