Firewood for my parents

As most of my friends know, my parents have been out of work for a couple years now. My father was laid off from a job of 36 years at the mill. My mom has too many health problems to name them. She has tried for disability but is too proud to keep trying after three years of getting turned down. My dad is currently going to school for welding and will be finished in November. In the meantime he has found odd jobs here and there. At his age everyplace he has applied for a job they have turned him down. In Maine it's very hard economic times and jobs are hard to find. My mom does do housework here and there to make extra money even though her doctors have put her on high restrictions, she recently just had a stroke. My parents burn wood for heat, they called to apply for Maine to provide wood for them, but the state dropped the ball and has made a very late appt for them so they don't even know if they will get accepted. Maine winters are rough. It takes atleast 6 cords of wood for a mild winter. They will most likely need 8 or more this year. I'm doing what I can scrambling around on Craigslist to find them some wood and even thinking of driving some up there too them. But they need help. They can't pay their mortgage. Their light bills and all their utilitys. They are slowly getting all shut off notices.
My friends know I never ask for anything if I really need it. And I'm not asking for me. I'm asking for my parents, who would never ask for help themselves. They are too proud, but they need help... any kind of donation would much appreciated. Along with sharing this story .
