I am raising funds in support of myself as a freelance musician. I have now completed the score and demos of "Lincoln Speaks of Liberty" and have received very beautiful feedback from listeners on how inspiring they are finding this work!

I have felt a strong connection to Lincoln for much of my life, and so this is a project very close to my heart. I have very beautiful music in the works for this and believe that "Lincoln Speaks of Liberty" will uplift audiences. It also will promote, in Lincoln’s own lofty words, ideals of freedom and equality that remain essential principles for human progress to this day. Thus this project is intended to be educational as well as inspirational.

Please watch my video showing noted Lincoln reenactor Fritz Klein giving a stirring rendition of The Gettysburg Address set to my music which has been called inspirational. The music in this video forms one part of the composition which will have other movements containing further quotations on liberty from Lincoln.

My dream is to have Mr Klein perform the completed work in front of live orchestras and bring the full experience of Lincoln’s profound words on liberty with my music to audiences around the country and hopefully the world!

I have already been in contact with conductors, orchestras and people involved in Lincoln history in Illinois and elsewhere exploring ways to bring this wonderful project “Lincoln Speaks of Liberty” to fruition. The caring generosity of the community is crucial to any worthy success in life. I deeply appreciate your kind support as I work on this beautiful and powerful new composition!

I sent the demo link to "Lincoln Speaks of Liberty" to a fine classical composer and music teacher Michael Mauldin asking for assistance in finding conductors who might be interested. His response was how I think of the piece, and he also talks of the challenge living composers face:

Thanks for sending the demo of "Lincoln Speaks of Liberty!" Not only is it musically attractive and uplifting, his words are powerful and their message, timely. And timeless. We need his message now, again. Perhaps more than ever. And your music seems the perfect vehicle.

Though performance opportunities seem to be getting rarer all the time, I'll keep my eyes/ears open. What a wonderful event this would make.

Dear Friends, I am currently looking to raise the tuition to attend this year's MSIA Conference workshop. It is $275 if paid before June 8th. While I have been taking the work available to me (including a very nice podcast music composing gig with a very appreciative client), my work capability is limited in number of hours at a time. I am in the process of appealing for disability insurance which was declined prior to full diagnosis which is in process. So your help on this, and other expenses, including having to move yet again in the near future, is greatly appreciated! To my surprise, my video of "All Men Are Created Equal," Lincoln on The Declaration of Independence has received a large number of listens. One friend wrote of it, "This piece is so moving. Connects me to the essence of Spirit." And more beautiful music to come!

Thanks and God bless you.

Wow, I just listened to the recently completed playlist all the way through for the first time (link pasted below). What a long journey for me and it is finally done! I have just heard from a Grammy -winning conductor who called the work wonderful and said she would present them to her orchestras to see if they can be programmed! Meanwhile the work is also going out to other conductors. I believe that I was able to tap into music that truly captures the spirit of liberty as championed in Lincoln's genius words.

I have become aware in the course of working on this how the spirit of liberty is glorious, coming from above, and that Lincoln was divinely inspired. On the other side, he talks about tyranny, and that is something of a lower nature coming from much denser earth consciousness than what Lincoln brought forward. May our own nation experience a new birth of freedom, may anything less than that be turned aside!

If you would like to contribute to my fund, please click the link below, and please enjoy the playlist below that. Thanks and God bless you.

I have just finished the demo of "The Foundation of Liberty" which is the first movement of my four-part "Lincoln Speaks of Liberty." It has been an incredible journey for me to study his words on liberty and put them within orchestral movements. I am now convinced that his ideals are among the most important in the history of the world. He understood and described the importance of liberty as something that comes from God for all people in all lands forever, that was his vision. He also understood tyranny and spoke of how that works, and the possibility of its return to our nation. He even foresaw corporations enthroned and wealth ending up mostly in the hands of a few and was deeply concerned for this country, praying to God it would not be so.

Given what is happening in this day and age, his values are so important and I am proud to be using my artistic talent to bring forward his timeless words and concepts.

If you are moved to contribute to my campaign, that would be greatly appreciated and helpful to me at this time. The disability application process has dragged on for months and a new step has emerged for the middle of next month so it could still take a while.
