A portable kitchen for The Village

Tax deductible
The Village on e12 & 23rd ave is in need of a portable kitchen - one that can be disassembled and moved to our new location. currently we are working out of a make shift kitchen. but its been a struggle as equiptment seems to grow legs and walk away, or greedy folks wipe out the pantry so there is no food for any of the other residents, or perishible food goes bad too too fast.

So we are looking to build a kitchen with a freezer/refridgerator that is padlocked; a heavy duty shed to lock up cooking equiptment and supplies; a pantry that will keep out rats and theives; a solar oven; a wood burning oven; two grills; a handwashing station; a portable compost bin; a recycling area; and a dining area.

this kitchen will be moveable as to accomodate the new location we will relocate to in the fall 2018. volunteers from the village and feed the people will not be the only groups operating out of the kitchen. dozens of churches, community groups and food justice organizations have signed up to be on the kitchen staff; and plenty of the residents can also throw down in the kitchen.

and the kitchen will be providing food service not only to the 80 residents of the village, but to anyone who is hungry and need of breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week.
