Miss Abbies Halloween Health Fair

 

Miss Abbie's Halloween Health/WellnessFair & Block Event marries Health and Halloween by teaching the youth and their families of the community about how to avoid chonic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, coronary disease and much more.

We use relatable youth activities, enlist the involvement of providers in the community such as health care vendors, holistic healers, local level govenrment and everything in between that play a large role in how our wellness is impacted as minority people in underserved neighborhoods.

To date, we have served over 9,300 youth and families over a five year period and we are proud to offer this huge outdoor, safe, funfilled and remarkably informative event for the last four years.

We are continuously looking to create a linkage between providers and our youth. If you would like to be a part of our event this year. Please inbox us your inquiry. The application is almost full.

Thanks in advance for your participation. This event has also sparked a wave of peace and comradery in our neighborhood as well, reducing crime on this day to 0 reports to our local precinct in a 2 block radius, which is historically unprecedented

Who was Miss Abbie? 

If you are in the space on OCTOBER 31ST, 2018 you will most definitely feel her energy and GET why we do thus every year! 



We show youth how to be safe, have enjoyment while LEARNING and most importantly...HOW to care for themselves through all levels of wellness and health.


When children become accustomed to getting health check ups from an early age, they are more likely to take care of themselves later AND teach THEIR children or to do the same.


The balloon release that we do at the end of our event represents our loved ones that we have lost to Cancer and are surviving cancer as we speak.


Our youth love to create...we also make sure they have many outlets of expression during this day!! Arts and crafts is one of them.


Our kids get LITTTTTTTYYYYYY on #this day, they get exposure to all types of things that enhance and elevate their physical bodies, as well as their spiritual, mental and emotional well being.
