A Dream of Land
James Hartnell Letterston Community, WLS
As a family we love the outdoors. We are all out tending to our vegetables when possible and due to saving money all of our holidays have been spent in a tent in various farmers fields.
Five years ago my wife and I decided we would love to buy a little patch of land and grow as much food as possible. What we didn't need we could give to various homeless shelters and refuge's etc.
Part of the reason we want the land other than growing vegetables is so we can teach our children how to live off the land and ultimately respect their surroundings.
From the initial day to this we have saved every penny we possibly could. As the children were born we involved them in our dream and they understood why we had to save money rather than spend. Soon they were more eager for the land than we were.
We looked everywhere and eventually we found a piece of land we could afford if we saved after years of saving we finally reached our mark, the amount we needed to buy the patch of land we found. The only patch of land we could ever think of affording. During talks with the solicitors it transpired that the person we were planning on buying the land off of had run out of money. As a result she was having to sell the whole patch of land not just the patch we wanted. So in order for us to be able to buy the piece of land we have had our hearts set on for so long we need your help. Any amount you can spare would mean so much to all of us. We have great faith in the love of others and thank you for all of the support you can give us.
As with every long journey it starts with the first step. Thank you Wes Zebrowski for helping us take that first step. You have gained a place in our heart and if you are ever this side of the pond in our house too. Thank you my friend
