Yolanda - DNC Delegate for Bernie

Yolanda has been chosen as a California At-Large Delegate for Bernie Sanders in this upcoming DNC Conference in Philadelphia.
I've created this fundraising page for her, as she is currently touring many states promoting the Brand New Congress (BNC). I am a friend that is helping her in this fundraising task. The BNC follows through with Bernie's encouragement that Americans, from all walks of life, become more involved with politics at all levels, whether that be in running for office or supporting local candidates that are doing so in truly representing the needs of the 99%.
Yolanda has worked tirelessly for Bernie over this last year, canvassing for Bernie in 3 states, leading Barnstorm events, creating and supporting regional volunteers groups, and of course, organizing and speaking to motivate folks to stay enaged and enthusiastic. One cannot measure the value of Yolanda's committment to our efforts. Incredibly, Yolanda's done all of this as a single mother while working full time as a 6th grade teacher.
We need Yolanda's voice in Philadelphia at the DNC Convention. She brings not only the perspective of an individual of Mexican-American descent, but also that of a single parent struggling with student loan debt while striving to provide for her family, a situation so many also face in this country.
The Journey for California Delegates to the DNC Convention is enormously expensive. Not only is costly airfare needed, the DNC hotel block for our delegation was negotiated at a $700 charge per night. Meals and transportation within the city will also have significantly cost increases during this week. While this is not an issue for the 1% that easily attend, this poses a significant challenge for the average delegate that wants to lend their voice in the pursuit of change for all of us.
Your donation will be used towards airfare, hotel for 5 nights, meals, and within city transportation. The amount has been increased as GoFundMe will take their fee.
The California Democratic Party estimates costs to be as follows:
Airfare to Philadelphia* $400-$900
Hotel for 4 nights* $2,600
Food and Incidentals $450+
Statewide Delegate Meeting $150+
Total Cost $3,600-$4,100
Time is short, as Yolanda needs these funds to obtain tickets and reservations by June 30th.
We've all supported Bernie this year, now is the time to arm him with his strongest voices to stand for his nomination and his platform in Philadelphia. We can't have come this far, and not put it all on the line for this final push to get his strongest delegates there to represent us.
