Haiti is a beautiful country that has been victim to devastating natural disasters. Health care is unaffordable, with an average annual income of $270 and a visit to the hospital as far as 2 ours away away costing $50. Following the earthquake in 2010, YourStory International was founded with the goal to combat these injustices.
YouStory International is a grassroots organization created by both Haitians and Americans. The founders of this organization came together with a mission "to empower communities in a manner that engages local perspectives and provides measurable results." YSI focuses on providing primary health care, maternal health care, education, and disaster relief in a culturally meaningful manner to foster personal, mutually beneficial cross cultural relationships.
