The students of the Williamston High School InvenTeam are honored to have been selected as one of 14 schools in the nation to receive a grant from the Lemelson-MIT program.  They have worked hard to earn the grant and look forward to working on their invention throughout the year.

The invention is to create an automated, electronic device that will perform the turning of the combination dial on a school locker for students with neurodevelopmental disabilities.  The goal is to have the device be small, portable and easily operated.

As a culminating experience for the InvenTeam process, the students go to the campus of MIT for 5 days in June to present their prototype, meet with other schools and students that also have the inventive spirit, and take part in fun activities.  We would like all of our team members to be able to experience this.  However, none of the grant we received can go towards travel expenses.  We are solely reliant upon fundraising to make it possible for all team members to take part in this experience.  This is where we need your help!
