This is my beautiful stepdaughter Cristina. She is working hard to bring the people of Puerto Rico some water. They are still suffering and, no their water, electricity and communication systems are nowhere near being restored. Cristina and the people on the island live every minute reminded of Hurricane Maria and how hard it has made getting life’s basic necessities.

Have you been thirsty today? Next time you want a drink try going 8 hours without drinking anything then maybe, just maybe you will get a glimpse at what life is like for our fellow Americans living in Puerto Rico. Our Government can and should do better at getting resources restored.

The people in this photo speak Spanish but they were so grateful for the help that they received this day that they wrote a thank you note to Cristina in English. They wanted to make sure that wherever help came from their gratitude would be understood. Could you do that?(write a thank you note in a language you don’t speak without access to the internet or your phone)? I know I couldn’t.

I just wanted to show you guys there are still people who desperately need our help.  Last month I was able to send 20 Lifestraw Family Water Purification Systems to Puerto Rico, which Cristina distributed while going out on water runs like the one pictured here. Each system purifies enough water for a family of five everyday for 3 years. Many of the systems Cristina gave out are the only source of clean water for communities of 10 or 20 people. We simply need to send more.

Each system sells for $74.95 plus shipping. If we buy the systems my brother in law who is a pilot has offered to fly the next batch over so I won’t have to pay the double shipping.  Lifestraw doesn't ship to P.O. Boxes and thats the only way to get them delivered to Cristina other than the private jet. 

If all you can do is share this story and ask people to call their representatives to remind them that Puerto Rico still needs us; then please tell them you want them to support aid for the island.   Your voice combined with others would help more than you know. Real people are counting on us. And YES, Cristina is a badass but she can’t do this by herself and she needs us. So please call your representatives and congressmen to ask them to fund an aid package for the island that doesn't add to their crushing debt and share please share this picture and story on your social profiles. But if you can donate just $1.00 every cent will go towards helping people who desperatly need it. Please do what you can. Thank you for taking the time to care for others.
