Wisconsin's Homeless Issue – Ignored
While Scott Walker and Paul Ryan dined on prime rib and lobster this past Saturday, a homeless man was left out in the cold. While pushing an agenda that would leave millions without health insurance, a cerebral palsy patient is unable to afford his treatment. This is just one example of how those in power seem to ignore the issues of our inner-cities.
Jon Eaton is a cerebral palsy patient. Unable to work, Jon was living off of social security, with his wife as the payee. But, when Jon’s wife left him, taking his social security with her, he was left out in the cold. Unable to pay for treatment, food or even for shelter, Jon was last spotted near the Menards in Beloit; holding a sign looking for any help he can get. But he isn’t looking for a free ride; Jon only wants a chance to survive.
One of our dedicated Alliance members offered his hand to help. Jd was able to put Jon up at the Driftwood in Beloit for a couple of nights, but Jon still needs our help. We are reaching out to the community. Any help you are willing, or able, to offer would be greatly appreciated.
This is just one story, out of thousands, across the great state of Wisconsin. That is why the WPA has set up a homeless assistance fund, to aid those in most dire need. 100% of the funds collected will be used to assist the homeless across the state of Wisconsin, either through direct assistance or through donations to homeless shelters/services.
Show Walker and Ryan what real Americans do, and what community is like. Show them, that unlike their self-centered and lopsided agendas, we do not leave our community members out in the cold.
