Voting - The Endangered Right

Do you know the citizens of the United States have no Right-to-Vote for President of the United States?

That's RIGHT!

Even the Supreme Court says so -- Antonin Scalia said so in his majority opinion in Bush v. Gore!

All based on an erroneous decision by the Supreme Court in 1876 (Reese v United States) in which the court misinterpreted Section 2 of the 14th Amendment as only applying to the "colored population."  Here is the what the amendment says:  "But when the right to vote at any election for the choice of electors for President and Vice President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the executive and judicial officers of a state, or the members of the legislature thereof, is denied to (qualified citizen),  or in any way abridged, except for participation in rebellion, or other crime, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced..."

There it is -- Right to Vote for electors for President.  In plain English -- Yet the entire legal profession pretends it does not!!

Read more here:  Asserting Our Right-to-Vote

We have filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Portland, Oregon (Case No:  3:16-cv-02290-HZ) but without attorneys because we cannot afford the fees and no attorney appears willing Pro Bono to take on almost 150 years of precedent to argue for our right to vote. Our claim is we have the right-to-vote for President and, as a result, the "Winner Take All" allocation of electors for President violates the Equal Protection Clause and the principle of One-Person-One-Vote.

We know this won't end in District Court -- So we need financial help to ensure we follow the rules of the court and properly interpret court decisions going forward.

Please help us perfect our right-to-vote. Once and for all. The work of the Reconstruction Amendments is not done until we win in the courts what the U.S. Constitution has properly conveyed -- The Right-To-Vote for President and Vice President AND to have our Vote Count!!
