Hurricane Maria entered Vieques, PR with over 155 mph winds and took everything the Viequenses had worked for their whole lives. This includes our family on the island.  The only help from the government so far has been the National Guard supplying some food and water, but not enough for the whole island.  As CNN stated, while Vieques Island is only 7 miles from the mainland of Puerto Rico, it might as well be 7000 miles away.
10 long days after Maria swept through Vieques, and anxiously waiting, we finally heard directly from our family. Our Vieques family did not hesitate to work on getting the Island back on its feet with the limited supplies and resources that they have. Carrying that spirit along we have decided to take action on our end here in the US to assist and greatly appreciate any help you can aid us with in this effort.

Here are supplies requested:
Non-perishable food
-rice (big bags)
-beans (black and red)
-cans of corn, peas, Vienna sausages, canned corned beef or other canned foods
-other non-perishable foods
-snacks for kids (like goldfish crackers)
-cat and dog food

Cash: No power and banks have run out of cash since there hasn't been a delivery of money to the one bank on the island
- needed to pay for diesel/ gas to fix/ clean up the island

Satellite phone(s)

D batteries

Personal Hygiene Products
-feminine products
-adult diapers
-baby diapers/ baby wipes
-toothpaste (small/sample size)
-tooth brushes

-First aid kits/supplies
-Bug/ mosquito spray

Large garbage bags

Supplies are being collected in two locations through Thursday, October 5th :

We are extremely grateful for the love and support from  family,  friends, and clients of The Grand who want to help, including Executive Director, Linda Plaster from the IN TWO WEEKS FOUNDATION, INC that has stepped up to help us get immediate help to our precious little Island of Vieques. Linda Plaster from the ITW Foundation and Carmen Sargeant from The Grand Beauty Spa have teamed up to get urgent and immediate supplies and cash needed to Vieques Island to help our Viequense family and friends to begin rebuilding and to survive until more help is available.

Viequenses are in desperate need and we can help. Although our Island may never be what it once was, we believe it will rise above these adversities and work towards the pursuit of a peaceful and tranquil existence.

Our deadline for all collections will be Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017. We are grateful for any donation -- 100% of donations will go to the Viequenses.

Thank you for joining us in helping Vieques and the Viequenses.

Everyone was so generous to support our first hurricane relief mission to Vieques Island, PR to deliver 2,000 lbs. of food and emergency supplies. We are grateful and the recipients were, and are, full of gratitude.

We received another 3,000 lbs. (approximately) of food and supplies from our donors that we need to get to Vieques Island via a shipping container so we still need funding to help us deliver all before the end of the year. Any donation you can afford will go toward transporting these additional goods to Vieques Island over the coming weeks.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you.

Wednesday was one of the best days ever for the In Two Weeks Foundation volunteers, Carmen and Tanya, who made the trip to their homeland - Vieques Island, Puerto Rico - along with 2,000 pounds of food and supplies! They were met at the airport by their entire family and many of their friends, who helped unload the plane and who will help distribute the desperately needed food and supplies.

Growing up in Vieques, Carmen and Tanya were taught that love is the most important thing in the world, and that selfless giving is what makes the world go around. They were beyond humbled to be able to give back to the very people who taught them this invaluable lesson! Incredibly, these same people who were in desperate need of food and supplies made sure Carmen, Tanya and the cargo plane pilot were well fed with delicious homemade rice and beans prepared just for them. They were not going to let them return to Florida on an empty stomach, despite how little they had to share.

Thank you all for the amazing amount of donations that made this mission possible. We continue to raise funds as we have another shipment of approximately 3,000 pounds of food and supplies that will go back to Vieques as soon as we are able to make arrangements.

We can’t thank you enough for all your support.

The In Two Weeks Foundation, a St. Petersburg, Florida 501c3 charity, is overwhelmingly grateful to have surpassed our fundraising goal to help the people in Vieques Island, Puerto Rico following the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria.
Your generous cash donations purchased food, medical supplies, personal hygiene items, a diesel generator, powdered milk, pet food, batteries, baby food and supplies (diapers, wipes), elder care products, a satellite phone, shipping supplies and transportation of all items to Vieques Island.
We want to thank the Walmart employees who prayed over us as they helped us pack our trucks with donation items, then gave us a $200 credit so more supplies could be purchased. Thank God Carmen had her favorite wedges on to run around the store. LOL!! She went over by $14 and the gentleman helping take supplies to the truck paid for it with his own money. The Walmart employees were absolutely helpful, caring and dedicated to helping us.
Lots of thanks to Carmen, Linda, Carol, Delia, Tanya, Anny, Julie, Tommy, Andrew, Cheryl, Jeremy,Alicia, JoAnn, Vanessa and Pat who helped us receive donations, unload truckloads of supplies, then categorize, box and weigh them. Additional thanks to Linda Howard for her stellar fundraising efforts. We also want to thank Ann Potter, and Anny Mendez and Beachfront Fitness for setting up drop off sites.

A special debt of gratitude is owed to Pam and Alicia for running around to countless locations to pick up and deliver donations.
In addition, our office has been flooded with massive donations of food, bug spray, sun screen, solar charging products, water, juice, kid’s toys and clothes, adult clothing, shoes, diapers, sanitary wipes, soaps, shampoo and every other item imaginable to assist the people of Vieques. We are so incredibly grateful for the kindness and love you have shown.
In all, we have collected approximately 5,000 pounds of food, water and supplies of non cash donations. This is more than twice the amount we anticipated! Therefore, we are now able to send two separate shipments directly to Vieques.

The first shipment will leave this week. The In Two Weeks Foundation donated 100% of the cost to charter a cargo plane that will deliver 2,000 pounds of food and supplies, including a diesel generator and satellite phone. We want to thank Feeding America Tampa Bay for donating their time and trucks to pick up the supplies, then properly weigh and shrink wrap them for delivery to the plane. We ask for your continued prayers and love as our airplane will have 3 stops with the 4th stop in Vieques.
