Utah Ulster Project Support

Donazione protetta
The Ulster Project of Utah has been operating for 31 years. Every summer, we bring a dozen teens from N. Ireland. Half are Catholic/half are Protestant - a big deal in that part of the world. Our website is UtahUlsterProject.org  .

We match them with a dozen American teens and their families and start a whirlwind month of daily activities - A mix of service, fun, leadership, or faith-based activities where these kids will learn many important lessons.

It is inspiring to see these kids start to trust each other and become one large inseparable unit. There are many tears when the N. Irish kids go home, but they take the lessons they've learned back to their community. And both groups usually remain in touch for years afterwards.

It's EXPENSIVE to run the Project - we manage our donated funds carefully (we do not charge any fees to the teens or their families), but we have to help pay airfare, admission fees, camping fees, snacks, water, sun cream (LOTS of sun cream as the N. Irish are not used to our hot summers!), just about everything needed to support 24 teens for a month.

Understandably, the airfare is our largest expense.  The N. Irish teens and their families handle some of it, but we try to donate $10,000 towards each year's airfare.  So we are working to raise some of these funds through donations.  Any donation will be GREATLY appreciated and used well to benefit this much-needed peace project.

Help spread the word by sharing this through your Facebook and Twitter channels.
