UA Student Chapter of ACI travel

The University of Alabama Student Chapter of ACI (American Concrete Institute) is raising money for student travel to the national ACI conventions for the 2015-2016 school year.
ACI conventions bring together hundreds of concrete industry professionals for four days of technical sessions, committee meetings, and networking events. Conventions are excellent opportunities for students to learn more about concrete research, case studies, and best industry practices, engage with the top innovators in the industry, including potential employers and colleagues, and face off against other universities in student competitions.
This November, the ACI convention is in Denver, Colorado, and we have four undergraduate civil engineering students competing in the pervious concrete cylinder competition. Team members are Edward Henderson, Ashley Sutton, Shelby Nesmith, and Tabitha Cruickshank. The team is advised by graduate students Nathan Klenke and Stephanie Wood and Dr. Eric Giannini.
Money raised will be used to pay for student airline tickets, hotel rooms, and other travel-related expenses such as taxi fare to and from the airport and luggage fees. We would also like to raise enough money for student travel to the April 2016 convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Since ACI is such a small group on campus, funds are quite limited, and our students are currently trying to find ways to front the travel costs themselves. Any assistance in sending our students to participate in this enriching experience would be greatly appreciated.
You can visit the UA Student Chapter of ACI on Facebook to keep up with our meeting times, events, and student competition progress.
