Bernie Delegate Convention Fund

My name is Travis Slankard and I am a Kansas delegate to the 2016 Democratic National Convention.  I am a pledged delegate for Bernie Sanders and I am looking forward to a very exciting and very tense convention this July.
   I was selected by my peers as one of four representatives of the 3rd Congressional District.  While it is a great honor to represent my state and my candidate, it is also very expensive.  The hotel the Bernie Delegates are staying at a hotel that is currently going for $650 a night.
   I am a disabled veteran and I work as a plumber.  My wife is a para-educator at a preschool. We moved back to Kansas with our three children after my retirement and we are both proud Bernie supporters. 
   This convention and the success of Bernie Sanders is too important to sit idly by and wait to see what happens.  I will be there even if I have to stay in my car.  The Bernie campaign is requesting that all delegates stay in their state's assigned hotel though.  As much as I dislike asking for help, I am in a position that requires me too. 
   I am hoping to raise an amount of money that would allow me to share a room with someone else in my situation.  Anything beyond that would go to meals and a couple of nice shirts.  The money for the hotel is due by July 1st. 
   If you are a Bernie Sanders supporter, and you would like to help a fellow Berner get to this contested convention, I am asking for your help.  I would be forever thankful for any assistance in reaching my goal.  Thank you for taking the time to consider donating.
