Yom-Tov Lipmann Heller published a Mishnah commentary, the commentary - called "Tosfos Yom-Tov" "The addition of Yom-Tov" - quickly became established as one of the standard commentaries to the Mishnah, and is studied to this day.
Rabbi Heller served as a Rabbi and leader in many Jewish towns and villages between 1624 and 1654 including Mikulov, Vienna, Prague, Nemirov, Ludmir. His last post when he was elected as the head of the rabbinical court of Krakow where he served from 1643 until his death in 1654. Today, over 350 years later, there are thousands of descendents all over the world.
I am a direct decedent of Rabbi Heller and I am the founder of Machon Tosfos Yom-Tov whose goal is to spread the teachings of the Tosfos Yom-Tov.
So far we have published 4 volumes of Tosfos Yom-Tov with exciting reviews, comments, explanations, and annotations on the original commentary of the Tosfos Yom-Tov. Your donation will help thousands of Roshei Yeshiva, Scholars, and laymen around the world to enhance their joy of learning Mishnayos and enable them to study it in depht the same as Gemarah.
Our goal is to issue another volume in 2016 and to finish the entire Mishna in the forseeble future. In order to move forward we need to raise $10,000 by the end of March 2016.
Our organization also issues a monthly publication to spread the teachings of Rabbi Heller.
