Toddlers need TLC

Donation protected
I never in a million years thought I would be sitting here writing this. I never imagined this would be our reality; but it is.

I am the sister of an IV heroin addict.

I am the sister-in-law of an IV heroin addict.

They have two beautiful children-

I HAD TO TAKE THE CHILDREN AWAY FROM THEM

Unfortunately when it comes to taking in your own family you don't qualify for the same benefits as if they were actual foster children. They are seen as not being a ward of the state so the state doesn't grant you any assistance, even on a temporary basis.

This is our story- our nightmare. Their nightmare.

My younger brother contacted me and told me that he and his family needed a place to stay to get back on their feet. Without hesitation we said yes. The lived in PA. We paid for their trip down here.
Not long after their arrival my fiancé and I noticed things were not right! People have said that I am strong, generous and loyal. I agree with the last two, except that I am loyal to a fault. I didn’t want to believe what I thought was happening. How could I? The last time I saw my brother and sister-in-law (2 ½ years ago) they were super parents. Those annoying Pinterest, we do crafts all the time, spotless house, perfect family.

WHAT HAPPENED???

HEROIN! That’s what happened! A $10.00 bag destroyed their lives, put their children in danger and has caused our world to come crashing down.

I do not know what it feels like to be an addict. I will never assume that I do. I continue to hope and pray that their parents find their way, and one day they will be reunited. However, in the interm it is my job to provide them with the best possible chance at life and the most loving environment.

During a short period of time over $14,000 worth of our items are missing. Detectives are still trying to locate all of it. However, once all is found WE have to pay to get it back from pawn shops.**UPDATE** The total is now more than $18,000

Thousands of dollars have been taken, my car has been crashed. I was served papers for 4 red light tickets while she was using my car( I was completly unware of). Our credit cards are frozen and we do not qualify for any assistance. There is nowhere to put on the application that we are out almost $40,000 in 4 months. **UPDATE** This total will be more than $70,000 in 6 months!

This doesn't include all court cost and protective orders placed on the kids. OR purchasing beds, sheets, a few outfits, shoes, school supplies, etc.

My fiancé has taken a new job which pays more but requires him to travel for weeks at a time. We will bounce back!

What do we need money for now?

*RENT ( WE CAN'T PAY THIS MONTH)
*FOOD
*COUNSELING FOR THE KIDS
*MEDICAL CARE FOR THE KIDS
*COURT COST ( This one is HUGE)
*SCHOOL CLOTHES, LUNCHES AND FEILD TRIPS
*TUTORING FOR THE LITTLE GUY
*SPEECH THERAPY FOR THE LITTLE GIRL

I can't erase what the kids have been through, and what they have seen. I can only hope to provide them with a stable, safe and most of all LOVING home.

Now that we have the kids, they are happier, healthy and starting to move forward, but there is a lot that needs to be done. They have questions we can't answer. They are angry at times. One thing they know for sure is that they are loved more than anything!!!

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. If you can't donate, please share.
