Timothea "Timbit" the fox

Donation protected

Little Timothea has had a difficult start to life.  At just 5 weeks old, she managed to get her front leg wedged in the slots of an Adirondack (Muskoka) chair.  She must have struggled for some time before she was found, for not only did she break her front leg in several places, she also tore her tendon and created deeply lacerated wounds.

It took two hours of surgery, but our wildlife veterinarian was able to set her leg and pin her tiny bones back together, then attach an external fixator to hold everything tight, so we could change her bandages and clean her wounds.

Timothea is in care at Woodlands Wildlife Sanctuary, a volunteer-based charity that is dedicated to helping orphaned and injured wildlife get back on their feet again.  The sanctuary receives no goverment funding and is totally dependent on donations from kind-hearted people like you.  Each day we provide her with antibiotics, pain medications, and anti-inflammatories.  She is fed a high quality foods suitable for her age and species.

Please help us with the costs of her surgeries and care.  They are just too prohibitive for us to afford on our own, and she will need more procedures as she grows. Timbit is such a sweet fox and all we really want is to see her run wild and free again.

Any extra funds raised will be used to care for the many injured wild ones in our care right now.  Every donation, no matter what amount,  is so very much appreciated!

We would very much like to thank our most generous wildlife veterinarian Dr. Sherri Cox from the National Wildlife Centre of Canada  and Dr. Kristi Halloway from the Mississauga Oakville Emergency Vet Hospital for their expert surgical procedure in hopes of saving her leg, and ultimately her wild life (see update #4).

Charitable receipts will gladly be issued for donations over $20 CND.

You can also help us care for Timothea and our other wildlife patients by visiting our Amazon Wish List .  Here you'll find many items that we are in need of, including chew toys to keep her pacified while she heals!
